Area Code Lookup Tool
Type a 3-digit area code, a full phone number, or a city or state.
Results show the location, main cities, time zone and current local time.
How the checker works
Type a three-digit area code. The tool finds the time zone for that code, shows the current local time and compares it with the time on your device. It then tells you whether it is business hours there (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), a reasonable hour for a personal call, or too early or late.

Good to know
- Some area codes cross two time zones, for example 850 in Florida. The tool shows both zones and uses the first for the clock.
- Most of Arizona and all of Hawaii do not use daylight saving time.
- Toll-free numbers such as 800 and 833 have no time zone. Check the company’s opening hours instead.
- US telemarketing rules limit sales calls to between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the time zone of the person being called.
